Manning Park Wedding – Fraser & Lauren

FILED IN: Uncategorized

This past August, I photographed a lovely wedding in Manning Park BC.

Manning Park has always been one of my favorite spots to camp and stop at on the way up to the Okanagan. It is quiet, has beautiful scenery and lots of space. I also love all the ground squirrels at Lighting Lake. Very cute.

When Lauren and Fraser contracted me about there wedding I was ecstatic. Not only was I excited about the venue but the couple were super genuine and laid back.

The day started out with some getting ready photos. Lauren was getting ready in a cabin and Fraser was in the lodge. We then moved down to Lighting Lake for the ceremony. The weather was all over the place during the ceremony. It was sunny, misting and cloudy. This made it difficult as I had to change my camera setting every 10 seconds, lol.

We then took some bridal portraits. For photos, there is an endless amount of spots to take photos. Everywhere is beautiful. One spot that is especially nice is the old cabin near the Strawberry Flats area. Very nice for group photos.

We then proceeded to the venue for the reception. One thing I really liked in the venue was the stairs leaving up to the second floor. It gave a different perceptive which in always nice in the final gallery of images.

Overall, it was a great day. If you decide to have your wedding at Manning Park, the one thing I would suggest is to prepare for all weather situations. The weather can change a lot during the day. Especially it you are going to the higher elevations for photos. Bring umbrellas, sunscreen and warm clothing. It is always better to be overly prepared.
