When I think about multiculturalism in Vancouver, I immediately think of Elena and Rafael. They both came to Canada a few years ago to broaden their English skills and experience a new country. During their adventures, they met, fell in love and now call Canada home. Who would of thought that girl from Russia and a boy from Brazil, would find each other in BC and fall in love.  It makes me believe in fairy tales, that is for sure! 

Elena and Rafael rented a house in Lion`s Bay for their intimate and romantic wedding. The house was very large, rustic, had lots of natural light and overlooked the ocean. The weather was amazing that day so the ceremony was able to take place on the deck. Close friends and family came from Brazil, Russia and locally came and watch Elena and Rafael exchanged their emotional vows.

One thing that I can’t get over is Elena’s dress. She crochet it!! Her mom sent her special yarn from Russia which made the dress have more weight and shine to it. It took Elena a few months to make but it totally paid off. She had the inner slip made for her but besides that, she created a stunning, unique wedding dress. I couldn’t even come close to making something like that!

For the bridal photos, Elena and Rafael found a secret location, in Lion`s Bay,  that we had to venture through the forest to get to. The sun was setting, the ocean was calm and there was lots a large rocks we were able to walk on. It was a great location for photos!

Overall it was an amazing day and I had a great time photographing these two.
