In October of 2016, I photographed Kelsey and Mauro’s wedding.
Kelsey and Maura had a large wedding that was themed around the festivities of October. There were fall colours, pumpkins, leaves and to top it off, we even had rain, lol. It was one of the more wet weddings I photographed in 2016 but to be honest, I love the rain. We live in a rainforest so I just embrace the wet climate now. No reason to get worried about it.
Due to the rain, the ceremony was inside at Old Orchard Hall is Port Moody. Old Orchard Hall is beautiful. There are floor to ceiling windows that overlook the Burrard inlet so it was an amazing setting for a ceremony.
After the ceremony we headed to Rocky Point Park for bridal Portraits. It was raining pretty hard so we used the amphitheatre for photos. We also went into one of the local breweries, Yellow Dog Brewery, for photos. It was a nice pit stop before heading off to the reception location. I was pregnant at the time of this wedding so no beer for me.
The reception was in East Vancouver at the Famee Furlane. This venue is massive and I felt like I was transported back to another era. There were chandeliers hanging, high ceilings, a balcony fit for a king and large windows. Very pretty!
One thing that was especially amazing was the dessert portion of the evening. The bride’s mom decorated and organized the most beautiful arrangement. I was taking photos of the dessert table throughout the course of the evening because it was very like something out of a bridal magazine.
Overall, the day was wonderful and I wish all the best to Mauro and Kelsey. They will be celebrating their 1 year anniversary soon and hope they have a grand celebration.
Enjoy
