Last September I photographed Renata and Jeff’s Wedding in Kelowna, BC.
In 2010, I moved up to Kelowna for year to go to Photography School at the Centre of Arts and Technology. It was a nice change of scenery from the busy lower mainland and a huge jump from living in Korea the past year.
After moving back to the Vancouver area at the end of 2011, I jump at every opportunity to go back to the Okanagan. My Grandma lives in Lake Country so I try to get up there as much as possible. When Jeff contacted me about his wedding, I got super excited and started planning my trip.
Jeff and Renata got married at Renata’s parents’ house. Renata’s dad had been landscaping the back yard to a while to get it perfect for the occasion. The backyard was full of family and friends and the bride and groom where accompanied by their large bridal party.
After the ceremony we went to Bertram Creek Park to take bridal portraits. The weather was overcast, which was perfect for photos. We took photos in the park, alongside the beach and up a little mountain. The park was literally empty which worked nicely for photos.
The reception took place at Manteo resort which is right on Okanagan Lake. Near the front entrance of the banquet hall, there was this cookie bar that I was obsessed with taking pictures of. There were so many cookies that were decorated beautifully. I’m gluten sensitive to I didn’t get to sample any of the beautiful desserts. Cry!
After dinner, the night was filled with memorable speeches, laughs and a lot of great dancing.
I had such a great time photographing Jeff and Renata and hopefully next year, I will be able to go up and capture some more beautiful weddings.
Enjoy the pics.
