Rustic Themed Wedding in Clayburn Village

Rustic Themed Wedding in Clayburn Village

In September of 2017, I photographed a beautiful wedding in Clayburn Village.

I met Lisa and Elias early on in 2017 when I did their engagement session. They were a super easy going couple that I instantly got along with.

Lisa and Elias’s engagement session took place at Old Mill Park in Port Moody. The park is very unique due to the remains of the McNair Cedar Mill. The old mill was destroyed by a fire in the late 1950’s leaving old structures and a shoreline covered in bricks. Elias was walking along the beach when he noticed a brick that read ‘Clayburn’. The bricks of the old mill where made in Clayburn Village. The brick plant was built in 1905 and a village was laid out soon after where many of its employees lived. Now the historic town is a popular area for events and tourists.

The ceremony took place at the Clayburn Church and Lisa and Elias had their reception in the old school house right across the street. The day was filled with lots of great moments and I really enjoyed photographing the two of them.

One thing that I really like about the photo taking process was the getting ready photos. I took photos of Lisa at a small Bed and Breakfast just down the street from the venue. The lighting and decor was amazing. It makes such a huge difference having a well-lit space for getting ready photos. There was no clutter so the focus was solely on Lisa, her mom and bridal party..   I also really liked the moose cake toppers. My second shooter and I played around with them a little and staged there rings on top of them. I think I was having a little too much fun with them.

Enjoy the pics and congrats to the Lisa and Elias.

Check out Lisa and Elias’s engagement photos.
