At the beginning of June, I photographed a lovely wedding in Burnaby and Vancouver.
The day stated out with the ceremony, which took place at Holy Cross Parish in Burnaby. We then proceeded to Crab Park in Vancouver for pictures and ended at Federico’s on commercial drive for dinner.
When planning out this wedding, we were expecting rain. I packed my umbrella’s, jacket, boots, towels and etc to prepare for a very wet day. When the day came, the weather forecast was very wrong. The sun came out and it was warm. I wish I had worn cooler clothing, lol.
The location for bridal photos was a nice, quiet location with an industrial feel. Crab Park has several different backdrops to choose from: the beach, mountains, city and industrial. Lots of options for photos which I love. There was also a little wind which made it the perfect condition for veil shots. The bride had the most amazing cathedral veil. It just flew in the wind. I didn’t have to do much tossing and twirling to get it in the air.
When we went to the restaurant for the reception, I was greeted with open arms. The owner was one of the most friendly people I have ever met. Even though I didn’t stay long at the reception, the venue seemed like a great place to eat and enjoy the company of good friends.
Overall it was a great day and congrats to the bride and groom. They are such down to earth people who were amazing to get to know and photograph.
