Last September I photographed Sarah and Nathan’s Wedding in Queen’s Park, New Westminster.
The day started out at The Inn at the Quay in New Westminister. I took pictures of Sarah getting ready. The room was larger than other hotel rooms I have been in, which was great for moving around and taking photos. The hotel room also faced the Fraser River and Port Mann Bridge which was amazing. The sliding door to the deck was opened and a nice breeze flowed through the room. It almost felt like we were right on the ocean.
The ceremony took place in the beautiful rose gardens at Queen’s park. The rose garden is such a lovely place to get married. There are tons of flowers, a gazebo and a lovely area for family photos.
After the ceremony we walked around the park and took bridal party photos. One of favourite spots was the Willow trees right behind the hall. Sometimes in the summer, if the grass hasn’t been cut for a while, it makes for some amazing photos as well.
There is also a spray park in Queen’s park which can be nice for photos; however, there is a button that activates the water. Be careful because if this button gets pressed while you are taking pictures in the spray park, you may be very wet, lol.
The reception occurred at Centennial Hall which is in Queen’s park. It is a quaint venue with a lot of beautiful natural light illuminating the room.
Overall if was a wonderful wedding and all the best to Sarah and Nathan.
