On April 30th, 2016 I photographed Yumiko and Mike’s Wedding on top of Grouse Mountain. The weather was warm, the sun was out and the whole day seemed to be perfect!
The day started out at the ceremony, which took place at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Croatian Parish in Vancouver. The church was beautiful! The ceilings where high, there was amazing stained glass artwork and there was a lot of natural light that spilled through the windows. I didn’t have to use any on camera flash which I was very excited about.
After the ceremony, I joined the bridal party in the limo and we all headed up to Grouse Mountain. Once arriving at the mountain, we took the tram up to the top and and took pictures. There was still snow on the top of the mountain which was really nice for the bridal portraits. Throughout the session my shoes were full of snow but it was total worth it because I was able to get some great angles of the bride and groom.
After family and formal portraits, we headed over to the restaurant at Grouse Mountain. The dinner took place in the Timber Room and had a beautiful view of Downtown Vancouver.
Just before dinner, I headed out to the deck with Mike and Yumiko and used some off camera flash for there final portraits. I love taking photographs of the bride and groom just as the sun is setting. I’m able to expose for the beautiful sunset and then my flash illuminates the couple. I always love being able to capture these types of images.
Overall, it was an amazing wedding and all the best to the bride and groom.
