At the end of May, I collaborated with Erin Sweet Photography and we created a stylized wedding shoot.
Erin and I have known each other for 6 years. We met is school when we were studying photography in Kelowna, BC. Over the last few years we have met once a year and done something photography related. In 2014 we went to United in Santa Barbara, in 2015 we went to WPPI in Las Vegas and this year Erin came to Vancouver.
Creating a stylized shoot is always fun but it can be costly. To cut back on some of the expenses, we made some items ourselves and got a few items used. Here is a list of everything we used and where we got it from:
Wedding Dress – Craigslist (Originally from David’s Bridal)
Grey Suite – Borrowed
Blue Suite – Model’s own suite
Cake – Made from Timbits (lol)
Bouquet – Costco
Mason Jar – Michael’s
Gold Plate – Pier One
Bridal Sash – Michael’s
The entire stylized shot was around $250, which I think is pretty good. To all the brides and grooms out there who are overwhelmed at the cost of décor for their wedding, look no further. If you invest the time and do your research, you will be able to save a lot.
For hair and make-up we had the wonderful Quaint Hair Designs. I have done a few weddings with this hair and make-up team and enjoy working with them every time.
For the location of the shoot, I wanted to stick to beautiful scenic areas in the Greater Vancouver area. I picked Barnet Marine Park because there are so many different backdrops. There is the ocean, mountain, trees and old remnants of a mine. We then went to Buntzen Lake. The view of the mountains is absolutely breathtaking here.
Thanks again to my amazing models. They were amazing!!!!
