In early May I got to photograph an engagement session in a beautiful West Vancouver home. I have never been given the opportunity to photograph an e-session in-doors before so I was excited for the opportunity.
When I first arrived at the house I didn’t except it to be as nice as it was. The house had so much character, unique furniture and the yard was beautiful. On top of photographing inside this gorgeous house, the couple was dressed to perfection, which made me feel like I was taking pictures of royalty- especially when the dogs where incorporated!
If you are ever looking to get engagement photos done indoors, keep in mind the following:
- Natural light. Is there a large window in the home? Natural light is extremely flattering so making sure there is enough light coming into the home is important. Even though I incorporate some off camera flash, having as much light as possible is always a good thing.
- Always make sure you tidy up your house before the photo session. Having dirty dishes or laundry in the living room is distracting in photos. The cleaner and less cluttered the house the better. Take a look at photos below and see how organized and clean this house is! AMAZING!
In all it was a wonderful afternoon and look forward to photographing this couple in July! The wedding season is here and I’m so excited for what the next few months have in store for me.
Enjoy!
