Laura and Dan’s Northview Golf Club Wedding

Laura and Dan had a lovely wedding last September, 2015 at Northview Golf Club in Surrey, BC. Even though it rained 50 mm that day, we managed to get find a location to do photos and keep every moderately dry. Sometimes the word, ‘rain’, can be a little disappointing to hear but if you prepare properly, you can still get some amazing photos.

I started taking pictures of Laura while she was getting ready at the Comfort Inn and Suites. I remember walking into the room and being in awe of all the bridesmaids’ dresses; they were stunning.

The lighting is the room was great as well. I felt like the light really amplified the bond between Laura and her mother. As Laura’s mom was helping get her get into the wedding dress, both were misty eyed. They were exchanging words and moments with each other that made even me cry.

When the getting-ready photos were complete, we all went to Stewart Farm for the first look and bridal portraits. At this point in the day it was pouring, so we all stayed undercover for most of the photos. I love Stewart Farm because there is so much variety located on site: boats, a barn, a heritage house, a dock, an orchard, trees and an old picket fence. It is defiantly a great area if you want variety in your wedding photos.

After the portraits we headed to the venue; Northview Golf Course in Langley. This wedding has amazing gardens just for photos, lots of natural light and a great view. The bridal party proceeded to do a quick dress rehearsal and then we were off to do more photos in the gardens before the ceremony.

The ceremony was inside, due to the rain, but it was still beautiful. The banquet room has floor to ceiling windows, so the room was bright; perfect for photos.

The remaining time I was at the wedding there were speeches, dancing and lots of happy tears and laughter.

I can’t wait to shoot at this venue again.

Enjoy!
